Is your startup a rocket ship or a tree?

Rocket ships require an immense amount of funding and expertise, and even then, they tend to explode before getting very far off the ground. When they do manage to make it to space, they jettison everything that got them there in order to propel a tiny payload at the top further.

Trees require little more than a tiny seed and consistent cultivation. They grow organically, all the while providing value to the surrounding ecosystem. Larger trees provide entire habitats for other living things, and generally improve the environment in which they grow. A well cared for tree can last for centuries.

Cultivate trees, don’t launch rockets.
